5 paragraph essay
Introductory paragraph
The introductory paragraph should also include the thesis statement, a kind of mini essay outline. This is where the writer grabs the reader's attention. He tells the reader what the article is about. The last sentence of this paragraph should also include a transition "hook" that takes the reader to the first paragraph of the body of the essay.

Body - First paragraph
The first paragraph of the body should include the strongest argument, the most significant example, the most intelligent illustration, or an obvious starting point. The first sentence should contain the "reverse hook" that links to the transition hook at the end of the introductory paragraph. The subject of this paragraph should be in the first or second sentence. This topic should be related to the thesis statement in the introductory paragraph. The last sentence of this paragraph should include a transition hook to link to the second body paragraph. - Second paragraph
The second paragraph of the body should include the second strongest argument, the second most significant example, the second most intelligent illustration or an obvious continuation of the first paragraph in the body. The subject for this paragraph should be in the first or second sentence. This topic should relate to the thesis in the opening paragraph. The last sentence in this paragraph should contain a final transitional hook k, signaling to the reader that this is the last important point in this essay. This hook also leads to the final paragraph.

Final paragraph
The fifth paragraph is the summary paragraph. It is important to rephrase the thesis and the three supporting ideas in an original and powerful way, as this is the last chance the writer has to convince the reader of the validity of the information presented.

This paragraph should include the following:

an allusion to the pattern used in the introductory paragraph,
a a reformulation of the thesis statement, using part of the original language or a language that "echoes" the original language (the statement, without However, it should not be a duplicate thesis statement.)
a summary of the three main points from the body of the essay
a closing statement that gives the reader signals that the discussion has come to an end. (This final statement can be a "call to action" in a persuasive essay.)
Example

"Poe used the words 'black', 'pitch' and 'thick darkness' not only to show the reader the condition of the old man's room, but also to make the reader feel the darkness." 3 "Thick" is a word that is not usually associated with color (darkness), however, by using it, Poe stimulates the reader's sense of feelings as well as their sense of sight.

In the first sentence of the second paragraph (first paragraph of the body) the words "sense" and "manipulation" are used to hook at the end of the introductory paragraph. The first part of the second sentence provides the subject of this paragraph: images in a static scene. Then a quote from "The Tell-Tale Heart" is introduced and briefly discussed. The last sentence of this paragraph uses the expressions "sense of feeling" and "sense of sight" as hooks to lead to the third paragraph

1 Later in the story, Poe uses a couple of words that cross not just the sense of sight but also the sense of feeling to describe a dynamic scene.2 The young man in the story has been standing at the open door of the old man's room for a long time, waiting for the right moment to reveal himself to the old man in or to scare him. 3 Poe writes: "So I opened it [the flashlight opening] - you can't imagine how stealthily, stealthily - until, at last, a single faint ray, like a spider's thread, shot out of the crack and fell from full over the vulture eye. 1The reader doesn't know much about what the old man looks like in this story other than that he has a blind eye.2 In the second paragraph of "The Tell-Tale Heart", Poe explains the young man's obsession with this blind eye when he writes: "He had the eye of the vulture - a light blue eye with a film about it. "3This" vulture eye "is evoked over and over again in history, until the reader becomes as obsessed with it as the young man.4 His use of the living, concrete word" vulture "creates a specific image in the reader's mind that is inevitable.

In the first sentence of the fourth paragraph (third paragraph in the body), "a blind eye" is used which links to the previous paragraph. This first sentence also lets the reader know that this paragraph will deal with descriptions of people: "what the old man looks like." Once again Poe is quoted and discussed. The last sentence uses the word "image" that hooks into the last paragraph. (It is less important that this paragraph has a hook as the last paragraph will include a summary of the body of the paper.)

1 "Dense darkness", "spider thread" and "vulture eye" are three images that Poe used In "The Tell-Tale Heart" to stimulate the reader's senses.2 Poe wanted the reader to see and feel real he used concrete images instead of vague abstract words to describe settings and people. If Edgar Allan Poe was one of Stephen King's teachers, King's readers owe a debt of gratitude to that 19th-century horror storyteller.

The first sentence of the final paragraph uses the main words of the citations in each paragraph of the body of the article, which summarizes those three paragraphs. The second and third sentences provide observations that can also be considered a summary, not just the content. from the article, but also offers a personal opinion that was logically drawn as a result of this study.
