Definition of concession
Concession is a literary device used in argumentative writing in which one recognizes an opponent's point. It allows for different opinions and approaches to a topic and indicates an understanding of what is causing the actual debate or controversy. It shows that the author is a mature thinker and has looked at the subject from all angles.
