Examples of process essays in literature
Example 1: C. Rediscovery of the community (by Heidi Ramirez )
“In every community there are different ways in which the residents create a sense of community: participating in intramural sports, visiting farmers' markets, walking with neighbors, participating in political meetings, helping older people who visit the library and volunteering for youth groups engage. It's important to know the people in these exchange sites, not just to be familiar with faces that build a strong community. Unfortunately, if this fundamental commitment is overlooked, communities can disintegrate. “

This is an excerpt from a trial essay by Heidi Ramirez. It sets the tone of a process for how communities integrate with one another. It clearly shows the sequence of the integration process .

Example 2: Homemade Education (by Malcolm X)
“I was so intrigued that I went on - I copied the next page of the dictionary. And I had the same experience when I was studying that. With every following page I also learned about people, places and events from history. Actually, the dictionary is like a miniature encyclopedia. Eventually the A section of the dictionary had filled a whole blackboard - and I moved on to the B words. In this way I began to copy what eventually became the entire dictionary. It went a lot faster after so much practice helped me increase the speed of handwriting. Between what I wrote on my tablet and writing letters, I would write a million words for the rest of the time in prison. “

In this essay Malcolm X pointed out some ways in which he learned to write. It tells how he copied the dictionary from one page to the next. Some of the transition words like “finally” and “actually” are quite obvious.

Example 3: Perspectives on “Limits” (by Luis Valdez)
“Let's go back to the Popol Vuh. We are now talking about limits. There is a limit that defines man as a material and a spiritual being. We have all learned that we are Homo sapiens, wise monkeys. The monkey is a symbol of intelligence in the Popol Vuh and in the classic Chinese novel Monkey. The wise monkey is a symbol of humanity. Now I would like to offer you another symbol for our humans - the feathered serpent. You are a feathered serpent that develops and crawls from the seeds of your being. And every now and then you get trapped, knowing that we go through a complete cell change every seven to nine years. We are totally renewed. In a sense, you're biologically crawling out of dead skin. They develop from The feathers are necessary because they represent our spiritual being. “

Although written in the second person, this excerpt shows that the essay is a process. It follows the same structure and pattern of using things or doing tasks in a sequence. The last few lines in particular show this clearly.

Function of a process attachment
A process attachment gives the reader a feel for the full process of creating or creating some objects or things. Readers can create and manufacture things after completing the essay. While not mandatory instructions, it contains full details in a descriptive or prescriptive mode. This is because its main aim is not to present banal and dry instructions, but vivid language, so that readers will read them with interest and act with enthusiasm.
