Response Essay
Thesis
A thesis may address some trends in the use of images in the work or parallels with the author's own life.

Body
The body of the answer essay is a careful elaboration of the work in question, examining all relevant aspects of the herself. there is too much to work with, so focus your work on a limited number of points.

Some of the ways you read a work of literature include

identifying literary devices such as simile, metaphor, imagery, alliteration, assonance, onomatopoya, and others and showing how they help convey the overall meaning of the work.
finding topics that are addressed in various parts of the work and show how they contribute to the overall meaning.
find the roots of words such as Greek or Latin roots or archaic usage and show how the writer has used these deeper meanings to add layers of complexity to his work.
relate aspects of the work to the author's own life or experience. what you have to do is state that most of the evidence supports your thesis. If there are strong arguments against your thesis, you can try again.

What is the creator looking for?
A fresh analysis of an old job could be a good start. Find subtle points that support your argument that you may not have seen presented in other essays. A creative thesis is a good start, but be careful trying to do a job. art say something the author might not have intended (there's a lot of critical theory going around this, but unless you're working on a graduate-level essay, just focus on the things relevant to the author. )
