Rody Kickham held the ball by its greasy tip. A colleague asked him to give him one last, but he kept walking without even answering. Simon Moonan told him not to do it because the prefect was watching. Subject turned to Simon Moonan and said. ”

Function of the direct object
Like other object types, direct objects are recipients of actions that are carried out in the sentence. A direct object can be a noun or a pronoun. Not only does it make text clear and understandable, but it also shifts the meaning of the verb forward. In fact, the main function of a direct object is to give readers information about an action by showing additional details about it. It tells more about the subject or, in some cases, shows the full action it took. In writing, it is used for precision, directness and brevity.
